A referral prompt that puts the invite link in front of happy users

Ask at the moment someone is glad they use you. Say what a friend gets and what they get, show the link, and let two buttons do the rest. Your code copies the link and opens the share sheet.

Try it. This is the real thing.

The phone runs the same open-source Web SDK your site would load, with the template exactly as it ships. Tap a button and see what your code would receive. Prices here are examples; your site passes the real ones.

The button below opens it as a popup over this page, the way it appears on a site.

Tap anything, and scroll inside the phone for the rest. Your site gets the event.

When to use it

  • After someone finishes something they were pleased with.
  • From a Refer a friend item in your menu.
  • After a purchase or a renewal.

What goes on it

  • What a friend gets and what the person gets back.
  • Three short steps: send, sign up, both rewarded.
  • The link, in a box.
  • A copy button and a share button.

Set it up in three steps

  1. Start from the Referral Share template

    Rewrite the offer to match your program. The link in the box is sample text, so replace it with a short example of your own.

  2. Give it a placement

    Name it something like refer_friend. Your menu item or your account page asks for that name.

  3. Handle the two buttons

    Each button sends an action ID to your code. Your code copies the person's real link and opens the share sheet. Miniwall does not create links or track referrals, and your program decides who gets a reward.

The code on your site

Prices and checkout stay in your product. The screen itself comes from Miniwall, so a new version reaches your site without a release.

Copy or share the link when a button is tapped
// getReferralLink is your own function: it returns this person's link.
await UIKit.presentPaywall({
  paywall: { placement: "refer_friend" },
  onAction: async ({ actionId }) => {
    const link = await getReferralLink();
    if (actionId === "copy_referral_link") await navigator.clipboard.writeText(link);
    if (actionId === "share_referral" && navigator.share) await navigator.share({ url: link });
    return false; // keep the screen open so they can copy, then share
  },
});

Good to know

Does Miniwall make the referral links?
No. Your product creates and tracks the links and gives out the rewards. Miniwall shows the screen and tells your code which button was tapped.
Can the screen show each person's own link?
The link on the screen is text you set in the editor. Your code supplies the real link when someone taps copy or share.
